Anthony Vernon is an 8th-grade ELA/Humanities teacher at Capital City Public Charter School in DC. He is originally from Gastonia, NC, about half an hour from Charlotte. He graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies in July 2016, and then attended and graduated from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN, with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2019. He is currently working on obtaining my Master's degree in Teaching from American University this May as part of the City Teaching Alliance teaching residency program. He is passionate about social justice and learning about the world around him through written or spoken words. He enjoys coffee with lots of flavored creamer, reading, listening to music, and conversing with people individually.
