A Native Washingtonian, John’s early work environment was in churches - installing and maintaining organs. After serving 4 years in Vietnam and Cambodia as part of the United States Air Force Civil Engineering Corps, John returned to the United States to work for the Atomic Energy Commission, then finally found his home at AMTRAK, where he spent the next 30 years. In 2011, John was asked by Rev. Canon Bruce Mac Pherson to become St. John’s first Verger, and is thrilled to be serving in that position today.
