We know that visiting a church for the first time makes many people nervous. At St. John’s, we try to remember what it’s like to be in your shoes. We do our best to anticipate your questions and to ensure that you feel welcome and comfortable here.

What time are the services on Sunday morning?
During the “school year” we have two services – one at 9:00 and one at 11:00. The 9:00 service is less formal, with a “family-style” communion. The 11:00 service includes a full choir. In the summer time we have one service at 10:00 a.m.
How long does the service last?
The 9:00 service lasts for about 45-50 minutes, and the 11:00 service is just over an hour.
What about Holy Communion?
We celebrate the Holy Eucharist every Sunday and believe that all are welcome at God’s table.
Where can I park?
We’re located at 3240 O St. NW in Georgetown, on the south east corner of O St. NW and Potomac St. NW. On Sundays the parking restrictions are lifted in Georgetown, and people can usually find parking. Uber and Lyft are also terrific options!
Do you offer programs for children?
Yes, children are ALWAYS welcome in our services, and we have welcome bags and children’s bulletins to keep them happy! We also have friendly, professional childcare from 8:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Click here for information about our programs for children, including LEGO my Bible!
What should I wear?
There’s no dress code. Some people dress up in their Sunday best and others show up in jeans and a sweater, whatever feels comfortable and appropriate for you is fine.
