America’s Civic Religion: Adult Faith Forum Series

May 14th and May 21st at 10:00; May 28th at 11:00

Join us for an important conversation! Designed and led by parishioners Al LaPorta (whose career of nearly 40 years in the foreign service included serving as Ambassador to Mongolia from 1997 to 2000) and Landis Jones (a long-time professor of Political Science, and White House staff under three Presidents), this series explores the intersection of religion and patriotism. Al La Porta led off the series with a discussion of the philosophical and religious themes underpinning American society. On Sunday, May 21st, Landis Jones will explore the “Holy Writs” of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. On Sunday, May 28 (when we will meet at 11 am after the combined service at 10 am) there will be a guest speaker, David McCracken, who will speak on religion and electoral politics.

Please join us downstairs in the Chapel of the Carpenter for this timely discussion series as we get ready to celebrate Memorial Day and Independence Day! Come for one or all sessions!
